لكن في الواقع ، تكشف المواقف الأخيرة عن ازدواجية فاضحة في المعايير ، خصوصا مع ما يجري في غزة .
منذ أن تولى الرئيس الأمريكي السابق دونالد ترامب الحكم ، كان يردد في خطاباته أنه "سيوقف الحروب" وأنه "يريد السلام" .
إلا أن سياسات واشنطن على أرض الواقع لم تترجم هذه الشعارات ، بل ساهمت في إشعال الأزمات أو إدامتها ، سواء في الشرق الأوسط أو خارجه .
الحدث الأبرز الذي يعكس هذه المفارقة وقع بالأمس ، حين استخدمت أمريكا حق النقض (الفيتو) في مجلس الأمن ضد مشروع قرار يدعو إلى وقف إطلاق النار في غزة .
هذا القرار كان يمثل مطلبا إنسانيا عاجلا لإيقاف نزيف الدم ، لكنه اصطدم بجدار الفيتو الأمريكي الذي أعطى الضوء الأخضر لاستمرار العمليات العسكرية .
المشهد هنا خطير ؛
أمريكا تقدم نفسها كراعٍ للسلام ، لكنها تمنع المجتمع الدولي من إنقاذ المدنيين .
واشنطن تبرر أفعالها تحت غطاء "حق إسرائيل في الدفاع عن النفس" ، بينما تغض الطرف عن الكارثة الإنسانية التي تتفاقم في غزة .
ازدواجية المعايير هذه لم تعد تخفى على أحد ، بل أصبحت تهز أوساط الإعلام العالمي الذي يتساءل ؛ كيف يمكن لدولة تزعم قيادة العالم الحر أن تقف ضد وقف إطلاق النار ؟
إن هذا الموقف يضع الولايات المتحدة في عزلة أخلاقية متنامية ، حيث تتصاعد الانتقادات من داخل أوروبا ، ومن قوى كبرى كالصين وروسيا ، بل ومن منظمات حقوقية عالمية .
لقد باتت واشنطن تُرى كقوة منحازة لا كوسيط سلام ، الأمر الذي يفقدها الكثير من مصداقيتها على المسرح الدولي .
إن أخطر ما في الأمر أن الفيتو الأمريكي لم يعد مجرد أداة سياسية ، بل صار يُقرأ كرسالة مباشرة مفادها ؛ "إرادة واشنطن تعلو على معاناة الشعوب" .
وهذه الرسالة في زمن وسائل الإعلام المفتوحة تهز الضمير الإنساني وتدفع الشعوب إلى التشكيك في جدوى الأمم المتحدة ذاتها .
وهكذا ، بينما يواصل العالم مطالبه العاجلة بوقف إطلاق النار ، تصر الولايات المتحدة على فرض واقع القوة لا واقع العدالة ، لتضع نفسها في مواجهة مفتوحة مع الرأي العام العالمي ، ومع المستقبل الذي لن يرحم ازدواجية المعايير .

🛎 The United States has long raised the banner of "peace" and "human rights" . Yet recent actions reveal a blatant double standard , especially in the case of Gaza .
Since taking office , former President Donald Trump repeatedly declared that he would "stop wars" and that he "wanted peace" . However , Washington’s policies on the ground never matched these slogans . Instead , they fueled or prolonged crises across the Middle East and beyond .
The most striking example came yesterday , when America used its veto power in the UN Security Council against a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza . This resolution was a humanitarian necessity to stop the bloodshed , but it was blocked by Washington , effectively granting a green light for the continuation of military operations .
This raises alarming contradictions :
The U . S . presents itself as a peace broker , yet prevents the world from saving civilians .
It justifies its stance under the banner of "Israel’s right to self-defense" while ignoring the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza .
Such double standards are now shaking global media outlets , asking : How can a nation claiming to lead the free world stand against a ceasefire ?
This position isolates the United States morally , as criticism grows from Europe , from major powers such as China and Russia , and from international human rights organizations . Washington is no longer seen as a peace mediator but as a biased actor , losing much of its credibility on the world stage .
Most dangerously , the American veto is no longer perceived as a political tool but as a direct message : "Washington’s will outweighs the suffering of nations" . In an era of open media , this message shakes the human conscience and pushes global opinion to question the very relevance of the United Nations .
Thus , while the world continues to demand an immediate ceasefire , the United States insists on imposing the reality of power rather than the reality of justice , positioning itself in direct confrontation with global public opinion and a future that will not forgive such double standards .
